Craig D. Norquist, MD
Craig has been with Scottsdale Emergency Associates since 2002, after completing residency as a Chief Resident. While working with SEA, he has served as Director of Human Resources and Medical Director of the emergency department for two of the Scottsdale Healthcare hospitals. He is currently Director for Quality for SEA and is Medical Staff President Elect for the Scottsdale Healthcare’s Thompson Peak campus.
Dr. Norquist has also served as President of the Arizona chapter of the College of Emergency Physicians and serves on the steering committee for the Pediatric Preparedness Recognition Task Force, which surveys Arizona Emergency Departments to assess their readiness to care for sick children. He works at the state level to help curb prescription narcotic abuse and has formed guidelines for appropriate prescribing for medical providers. Dr. Norquist also reviews cases for the Board of Medical Examiners and the Health Services Advisory Group. He currently also serves on the American College of Emergency Medicine steering committee and serves as the Chair for the Practice Management Committee for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. He writes a column forĀ Common Sense, a quarterly newsletter for Emergency physicians from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine as a patient and care giver.
In his spare time he enjoys running marathons and ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons. Dr. Norquist also proudly served the US Navy enlisting after his high school graduation. During his time in the NAVY Dr. Norquist became a nuclear power plant operator and served on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise for over four years.
